As we pray we ask God for guidance and revelation knowledge to help us to make wise decisions. God wants to talk to us more than we want to hear. We have to regularly and daily get in the presence of God and just be still and quiet and listen. No relationship can last with one person doing all of the talking. Yes God does speak and he wants to talk to you and he wants you to listen.
And when you listen and hear, write it down and when he gives you instructions act on it. This listening and moving in alignment with his will takes practice and it may feel silly the first time, but the more you do it, the better you become at it. And when God knows that he can trust you to listen and obey then he will gradually trust you with more.
There are many places in the bible where God speaks about leading and guiding us and giving us instructions. “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.” (Psalms 32:8) The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. (Psalm 37:23) “And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.” (Isaiah 30:21)
Over and over again in scripture God is asking us to listen, he is telling us that he will instruct us, he is letting us know that he will lead and guide us. If you want to be successful at what you do then follow God. If you want wisdom then ask God. If you feel fear and confusion then surrender your situation to God and listen because his voice drowns out fear and confusion.
Listen and learn from the Holy Spirit and be guided by him. When we take everything to God in prayer then we can have peace. Stop relying on human knowledge and learn to be led by the spirit.
